I went to the early childhood education club meeting! The meeting was on thursday, October 17. we had a guest speaker, Hannah fidler, come in to talk to us about the importance of yoga in children who have faced trama or adverse EXPERIENCES in their lives. we learned the PSYCHOLOGY behind how yoga calms the body, and the positions to help children who have experienced different circumstances. This presentation highly impacted me in my opinion about yoga, as well as how i could even implement yoga into my classroom. yoga can help students focus in class, therefore I may try to have a small yoga activity before class a couple times a week. this presentation gave me insite on something that i had'nt thought much about, and in turn affected my future aspirations post-college.
I learned that the library has a lot more to offer than you think. there are so many resources there that we have the OPPORTUNITY to utlize! The library is place that anyone can go to which makes it a very diverse place. I plan on going to the academic writing center there to help with the many papers that i have to write. This is something that I have heard about, but after doing this project i now know where it is. i also will continue to go to the library for help with my computer, have a quiete place to study, and do all of my printing needs. I helped contribute to my groups video by being on camara, as well as laying out a plan for what we were going to talk about. overall i learned a lot by doing DESTINATION uc at the langsam library.I will be a champion for my future students by being their greatest role model and biggest supporter. I want them to know that they can come talk to me about anything and everything. My favorite teachers that I’ve had were the ones that I developed a personal connection with. It made coming to school a lot better, and I want that for my students. I want them to enjoy coming to school and learning. Being a supportive early childhood teacher is crucial because we are teaching kids at a crucial part in their lives. Their brains are still developing which makes our job of the upmost importance. I want to be a champion and superhero for them. I want to make a difference not only in the classroom, but in their lives.
Teach Love Inspire One quote that I found that best describes me is “Use your smile to change the world. Don’t let the world change your smile” –Anonymous. This quote is great for me because I am almost always smiling, unless I am having a really bad day. This quote makes a very good point; however, because you shouldn’t ever let the world or anyone else stop you from smiling. Smiling is contagious, and when you’re happy it makes everyone else around you happy too. I can also connect to this quote because I want to be a teacher and change the world, and my smile can help me do that. My friends and people around me say that I always seem happy, and smiling is a part of that. When being a teacher, a smile can mean so much to the students, and even other fellow teachers. It shows that you care and are there to make a difference in the world, one smile at a time.
